Dental anxiety can come from many places: an unpleasant past experience, sensitivity to sounds and sensations, a strong gag reflex, fear of needles or simply feeling uncomfortable in the dental chair.
Nitrous oxide, often called laughing gas, is one of the lighter forms of dental sedation. It is delivered through a small nosepiece and is intended to help reduce tension and create a more relaxed experience while your dental treatment is completed.
Because the level of sedation can be adjusted during the appointment, your dental team can tailor the experience to your comfort and the treatment being performed.
